Last night we hosted our Vancouver Sales Performance Meetup event on How to Use Social Media to Crush Your Sales Quota at Ceilis Irish Pub – and we had some pretty interesting guests. One was a friend of mine who I rarely see outside of Facebook who showed up – Percy Lipinski BBC reporter. We also had a guest from Indonesia - Andoko Darta.

Selling with social media seems like a bit of an oxymoron. Selling traditionally is about pitching and closing in most people’s eyes. Social media is about community, connecting and sharing. The reality is if sales professionals get good at the latter they can beat their competition by communicating with buyers and business decision makers on the platforms they now prefer to engage on.
